Inscription for one has been written out and reads as follows: "To the Memory of Thomas Edward Raymond Symms. / Major Grenadier Guards. / Only child of / Thomas Raymond & Margaret Ethel Symms, / of the Mynde Park Much Dewchurch / Aged 39 years born April 23 1889 died Aug. 4 1928. / also of his mother Margaret Ethel / born Dec. 15. 1868." Written in the right corner, in vertical orientation, "H, Hanson / 11 Clough Lea / Marsden / Lee / 115 Fitzwilliam St."
