An above ground tomb with lion's feet, and an empty urn. Inscription on tomb reads: "SACRED / TO THE MEMORY OF / WILLIAM COWELL ESQ. / LATE OF THE BENGAL / CIVIL SERVICE / WHO DEPARTED THIS / ON THE 21ST OF MAY 1857 / AGED 77 YEARS / ALSO OF ELIZA ..." Grey watercolour of obelisk, mausoleum and other cemetary monuments in background. Signed and titled bottom of drawing. Mounted on board.
